Hello and welcome,

I am an Industrial Arts Technology teacher at the senior high school. The Industrial Arts Technology department is currently going through major changes.  Curriculum changes are being made to meet state standards for technology and because of budgetary reasons.

The ninth grade class which is now titled, Exploring Technology, has been cut to a 1/2 credit course. Students will be given experiences in residential wiring, plumbing, framing along with manufacturing techniques where projects are made.

Follow-up classes are currently titled Industrial Arts 1, Industrial Arts 2, Mechanical CAD, and Architectural CAD (CAD- Computer Aided Drawing).

Each Industrial Arts class offers students experiences in the following technical areas:
   Mechanical Drawing or Architectural Drawing
   Metalworking
   Woodworking

The Mechanical CAD course is a 1/2 credit course that begins with manual drawing skills and will feature the use of the programs AutoCAD and Inventor.

Architectural CAD will be offered as a 1/2 credit course. AutoCAD will be used to teach the drawing of floor plans, wall sections, and elevation drawings.

More detailed descriptions of each class and the projects are available on the "What's happening" page.
