Mr. Mountain’s Classroom Expectations

9th Grade Blue Team and American Life

1)      Be RESPECTFUL

-          Any disrespectful behavior is subject to verbal or written reprimand (i.e. warnings and detention hours).  Most instances will result in a warning first and a written referral will occur if the problem persists.

-          Ex: Loud and annoying behavior, excessive talking, unnecessary complaining and/or negativity, rudeness, or a general unpleasant regard towards life and any of its components.

2)      Be PUNCTUAL

-          That means “on time”.

-          If you are late to class, you have to sign the late log.  If you sign the late log 3 times in one year, any subsequent time will result in an hour of detention, AND  you must sing a song of my choosing for the whole class.

-

3)      Be PREPARED

-          Come to class each day with all the materials necessary for class.  Each day you will need at least your Journal, notes, YOUR AGENDA, and something to write with. I do not have many pens/pencils, and if I am out, you’re on your own.

4)      DO THE WORK

-          There is not a lot of homework in my class, but there will be activities that I will give you several days to accomplish.  Manage your time well and do all that is required, and I will guarantee that you will pass this class. If you fail to do the required work time and time again, you significantly hurt your chances at passing.

-          I give tests, I give projects, I really try not to give busy work, and sometimes I just make the work up as I go along.  Treat every assignment, regardless the size or difficulty, as best as you can and you will do well in this class.

Mr. Mountain’s Grading Policy

1.       Information on Grades

-          Quarter grades will be determined by dividing the total earned points with the total points possible for the 9 weeks.

-          Final grades will be determined by school policy

2.       Information on late work

-          Any assignment not turned in on time is subject to a late penalty. Generally, this penalty will be 20% of the assignments value if the assignment is turned in 1-2 days after it is due.

-          Any work turned in 3 or more days late is subject to a 50% grade penalty.  Once the nine weeks ends no late work will be accepted.
