ANNOUNCEMENTS

PM Activity today from 2:04-2:34.

 

Math Competition Crew will have a voluntary work session after school today. They will also be selling soft pretzels during all lunch shifts today for $1.

 

Recently at the Clearfield County High School Art Show, P-O had some place winners.  Mollie Maguire won Best of Show, Ben Schiefer placed 3rd overall, and Kameryn Harris and Hannah Minarchick received Honorable Mentions. Way to go art students!  The Clearfield Art Show will be up until May 17 at the Shaw Public Library.

 

The Annual District Art Show will be held this weekend in the gymnasium.  Hours are Saturday, April 28 from 11-3 and Sunday, April 29 from 12-3. Senior showcases, ceramic sales, live demonstrations, as well as artwork from grades K-12 will be on display.  Come support the arts.

 

The Senior High Cafeteria is having a different food item each day this week to promote earth week. They will be drawing students’ names daily for prizes, so please try their food items this week.

--Friday is black bean burger

 

Attention Seniors: If you have not placed your order online for graduation announcements, you need to do this as soon as possible in order to have them delivered by graduation. See “Class of 2018” Information page for more details.

 

Seniors are reminded that your final Job Shadow paper is due to Mr. Rea by April 30, 2018.

                       

GUIDANCE:

The Bryan Ennis Memorial Scholarship application is available in the Counseling Office.  Three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded in memory of Bryan, an 11 year old who passed away unexpectedly in 2005.  His care and concern for others was always placed ahead of his own personal needs.  His family continues to honor his legacy by providing this opportunity for other students.  Deadline for applications is NOON on May 21, 2018 to Gethsemane United Methodist Church.

 

The Philipsburg KIWANIS Scholarship application is now available in the Counseling Office.  Students must submit an application, 3 letters of reference, and an essay on “What Community Service Means to Me”.  Applications must be mailed directly to Kiwanis Club by May 1, 2018.

 

Information on the Christian Witness Scholarship is now available in the Counseling Office.  Graduating seniors are invited to write a 500 word essay on the theme, “Living Your Faith”, and provide two references. Deadline is May 11, 2018.

 

iRONman Scholarship Essay Contest:  Student must attend a trade school, community college or other accredited university. Parent/guardian must be a member of the Moose or a union member and proof of association. Scholarship funds will be awarded on the quality of the essay, regardless of personal financial of the participant.  More information is available in the Counseling Office. Essays must be received in Bellefonte by May 1, 2018.

 

Please check with Guidance Office on scholarships that have deadlines for the months of April and May.

 

 

 

ATHLETICS:

Yesterday, the Boys’ Track and Field Team competed in the Mountain League Championship Meet. They were led by strong performances from Zach Myers, Nick Keith, Josh Rea, Eric Tew, Matthew Shimmel, Cody Beauseigneur, Mike Askey, Nate Twoey, Dane Soltys, and Kaleb Richardson.

 

Yesterday, the Girls’ Track and Field Team competed in the Mountain League Championship Meet. They were led by strong performances from Sam Bainey, Sydney Holt, Megan Kosut, Loryn Hughes, Alysa Butterworth, Jordyn Williamson, and Mackenzie Podliski.

 

Boys’ Varsity/JV Baseball will be dismissed at 1:30.

 

Girls’ Varsity/JV Softball will be dismissed at 1:30.

 

 

LUNCH TODAY:  Popcorn Chicken Bowl w/Mashed Potatoes, Corn, Dinner Roll, Fruit and Milk. It’s also Zucchini Bread day!
