On May 10th 2011 a meeting was held at North Lincoln Hill Elementary School in the Library. Each of the three elementary schools were represented by active PTO volunteers.
The meeting was set up to discuss the many changes that will be occuring with our elementary schools over the next few years.
Everyone agreed that the best way to prepare for the future is to combine the current 3 PTO groups and create a new district-wide PTO for the Philipsburg Osceola Area School District.
Since the end of the current school year is quickly approaching, positions for officers were discussed and volunteers filled in the vacant spots. Committees were started for fundraising and assemblies. Over the next few weeks the committees will meet and discuss ideas for the upcoming school year. The officers will hold a meeting to get all of the details worked out with combining the PTO's together.
There will be a lot of activity going on in order to be ready for the fall, but we need your help... If you have any ideas on fundraisers, assemblies, or school events that take place throughout the year, please post your ideas so that they can be considered. We appreciate any outside feedback that we can get. The more ideas that are shared, the more options that we have to consider.
It's going to be a great transition thanks to the many volunteers that make up our Philipsburg Osceola Area School District PTO!
