In the 4th annual Takedown for Cancer Match between PO and Clearfield, PO won the first five bouts in a convincing 53-19 win.

The Philipsburg-Osceola Athletic Department has teamed with Squad Locker to open a brand new team store. The store will be open year round and is stocked with P-O apparel for every season. The store includes shirts, performance gear, polos, shorts, sweatpants, hats, accessories, bags, and much more. All proceeds will benefit athletic facility improvements. CDT Spotlight: Ryan and Jeremy Whitehead

 

Ryan and Jeremy Whitehead help lead the 2019 Mountaineer Baseball team in to the PIAA State Tournament for the first time in seven years. Their bond as brothers builds their competitive spirits that carries over to the field. The three sport brothers sat down with the Centre Daily Times recently to talk about the season, family, and the future.

CDT Spotlight: Keegan Soltis

 

After missing the first 3 games of the season while recovering from a broken bone in his foot, P-O junior Keegan Soltis has been on a tear. With one regular season game left, Soltis is hitting .511, and leads the Mountaineers with 24 RBIs. Josh Moyer of the Centre Daily Times recently sat down with Soltis, teammate Ryan Kephart, and head coach Doug Sankey to speak of the season that the junior is compiling.

Spring Sports Week in Review

The Mountaineer Baseball team went 2-2 last week to improve to 12-4 on the season. The Softball team put together a great week after dropping their first game. Following Monday's loss to Bald Eagle, the girls rebounded for five consecutive wins. The Centre Daily Times recaps the week of sports and highlights individual efforts in the link below.

Philipsburg-Osceola alum Jon Condo was the guest speaker at this year's National Football Foundation's banquet. Condo spoke to over 50 football player's including 5 from Centre County. Bubba Slogosky was in attendance from P-O. Slogosky was among a group of players nominated for this year's scholarship.

Halle Herrington: 2000 Career Points

On January 14, 2019, Halle Herrington scored her 2,000th career points in an overtime loss to St. Joseph's. A three pointer to open the 3rd quarter put her in to elite company. Halle joins only two other Centre County girl's basketball players in the 2000 point club, and just one player in the Progressland area.
