Osceola Mills Elementary has been identified by the state as one of 414 schools considered low-achieving based on combined 2010-11 reading and math scores. This was the same year that Osceola Mills Elementary made Adequate Yearly Progress because of its growth in PSSA scores in reading and math. We were disappointed to be informed on July 24 that OME is on this list, especially in light of the school’s significant growth during the 2011-12 school year. Here is a copy of the email we received. As you know, Philipsburg-Osceola is committed to raising student achievement, and we continue to work hard to improve our performance. We review rankings such as these, but we closely monitor our growth each year to ensure we are on the right path. (Updated by the state in mid-August. This is the latest version.) |
