    Welcome Back! Information for 2025-2026 School Year (click to see entirety)

    Dear POHS Families and Students,

    We hope everyone had a safe, restful, and enjoyable summer! As we prepare for the start of the 2025–2026 school year, we are excited to welcome back our returning Grade 10, 11, and 12 students—and extend a warm welcome to all new students joining the Senior High this year!

    Student Schedules Student schedules are now available online through the Sapphire Portal. Paper copies will also be distributed in students' advisory rooms on the first day of school.

    Emergency Card Submission The Emergency Card is accessible through a link on the Sapphire Portal. Please complete the multi-step process to update emergency contacts, health history, and related information. Once submitted, changes will be processed online. Important Reminder: Only individuals listed as emergency contacts will be permitted to pick up your child during the school year.

    Student Parking Student drivers may pick up a Student Parking Registration Form at the Main Office. All student drivers are required to obtain a parking pass in order to park on school property during regular school hours. Completed forms must be returned to the Main Office to receive a pass.

    New Communication Platform: ParentSquare This year, we are excited to implement ParentSquare, a unified communications platform that enhances engagement and keeps families informed.

    Helpful Information for the Start of the Year:

    • Request for Educational Trip Forms should be submitted to the Main Office at least one week prior to your planned absence. Forms are available in the Main Office and on the district website under “District Information” > “Forms and Resources.”
    • Senior High Open House: Tuesday, August 19 | 4:00 – 6:00 PM
    • Free Meals for All Students: All students are eligible to receive free breakfast and lunch daily.
    • First Day of School: Thursday, August 21 | 7:50 AM – 2:38 PM Students should report to the cafeteria or auditorium upon arrival until 7:45 AM. All students must be in their assigned advisory room before 7:50 AM.
    • Labor Day: Monday, September 1 – No School
    • Picture Day (Grades 9–12): Monday, September 8

They are were three of six place winners from the Clearfield County High School Art Show. Not shown are Anastasia Ricciotti (Honorable Mention), Juliette Jones-Hernandez (Honorable Mention), and Emily Gustkey (Jurors Award) who also won awards.

    ANNOUNCEMENTS

    If you are planning to play powder puff, Mrs. Miller needs your permission slip and t-shirt size immediately.  Cost of shirts is $15.  

    Chief Science Officers (CSO) please read your email from Mrs. Groves to register for this year.  Our first field trip will be Wed Oct 1 to IU10 in Philipsburg. Permission slips coming soon.

    Students interested in sign up for the PO Fly Fishing Club should see Mr. Minarchick in room 125 for more information.

    There are only 2 Powder Puff Football practices scheduled.  The first will be this Sunday, September 14th, at the turf field from 4:00 - 5:15 p.m. The last will be Sunday, September 21st, at the turf field from 4:00 - 5:15 p.m.  If you are playing or coaching, make every effort to be at those two practices.

    There will be a brief meeting today, after school, for those coaching in the Powder Puff game in Mr. Warlow's room (#116).  If you are unable to attend, stop by during the day & see what will be needed.

    ATHLETICS:

    HOME ATHLETIC EVENTS for today: Boys Varsity Football vs Penns Valley at 7:00.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY to: Lainee Conklin, Damarcus Law, & Trenton Dixon.

    TODAY FOR LUNCH: The Bravo Bar on the left side of the cafeteria will be offering a Texas Smokehouse Bar this week. Choice of Dry Rubbed BBQ Pork, BBQ Chicken, Ranch Taters, Zesty Country Green Beans, BBQ Baked Beans, Slaw, & Melons. Choice of Roll or Breadstick, & a Variety of BBQ Sauces. The right Side of the cafeteria will be offering-Toasted Cheese Sandwich, Tomato Soup, Caesar Salad, Fruit, & Milk.

    Breakfast and lunch are free to all students again this year.  Please remember at breakfast, to take 3 of the 4 items. You must take at least ½ cup fruit or veggie with your breakfast. Also at lunch you must take at least 3 of the 5 components available which has to include a ½ cup of fruit or veggies. If you don't have a fruit or veggie you will be charged for a lunch.
