Operation PE Victory
Captain Stewart and Sergeant Teat of the State College US Army Recruiting Company visited POHS gym classes to engage students in physical activities. The goal of Operation PE Victory is to promote physical and mental fitness while leaving a positive and lasting impact on students before they enter the community as graduates and adults.

Kai Thoma, read her essay “How to be a Good American” and won 1st place in the VFW District competition! She was honored at a dinner and award ceremony at Dubois VFW Post 813. They also awarded her for being the winner at local post 5020 (Osceola Mills VFW). She is now entered in the state competition in January! Congratulations, Kai!
Reading Buddies
Reading Buddies
Philipsburg Elementary students in grades K-2 read with students in grades 3-5. They can read books, review sight words, or even practice spelling words! Students can choose to sit anywhere within the building to read with their buddy or buddies.

Eighth grader Emily Gustkey won the VFW Patriot's Pen Essay Contest and read her essay at the Philipsburg VFW's Veteran's Day Ceremony on November 11th. We thank our Veterans for their service and sacrifice!

Sam Womer and Ella Wallace were awarded the Muddy Lucas Math Award. Both students received a $250 check. Checks were presented by Larry Johnson, Exalted Ruler of the Philipsburg Elks Lodge.
