Mr. Fye's Message

Hello PE Families!

As we near the end of March, I want to speak on behalf of our entire faculty and staff in saying how proud we are of all of our students!

Students will be bringing home report cards this Friday. They will also participate in our Kids for Kindness Dance on Friday. This event celebrates our support for pediatric cancer. During the dance, we will announce how much money we have raised through our KFK events and share who we will be supporting this year.

As we enter the final two months of the school year, we will have many activities and events taking place. These include field trips, end-of-year events such as our Talent Show and Field Day, and our state assessments. More information about the PSSAs will be shared with families over the next two weeks.

Thank you again for all that you do to make PE the best place to be!

Mr. Fye

We are excited to announce our 25-26 PE Yearbook Cover Contest. This year's theme is "Cool in Summer." All cover entries must be submitted by Wednesday, April 1.
All entries must be on 8/5 X 11 paper and include Philipsburg Elementary and 25-26 in the drawing.
Students are asked to put their name, teacher's name, and grade on the back of the paper. All entries will be voted on by faculty/staff. The top five entries will be selected and featured in our yearbook! The winner will be on the front cover. The other four entries will be on the back cover. The top five entries will win a gift card!

Academic Corner: Upcoming Exams and Test Preparation

We will conduct our final benchmarks for our students in grades 3, 4, and 5 on March 23, 24, and 25. All students will complete Math and ELA. 5th-grade students will complete a science benchmark on Wednesday, March 25.
Each assessment takes about two hours to complete. Accommodations are provided to support students as needed. We test students in whole and small groups. We adjust our special schedules on these days so all students can still attend their classes. Parent Information will be sent home with report cards.
All assessments are used to support students and to help our teachers plan instruction. Teachers review data in grade-level meetings each month.
If you have any questions about the assessments or would like to preview them, please contact Mr. Fye at jfye@pomounties.org.
