On April 28th the P-O Middle School sent 9 qualifying students to the Regional Competition for the National Civics Bee in State College out of 20 available spots -Kalen Herring, Eloise Spence, Lydia Baughman, Jayda Hamilton, Lainey Pelka, Nastacia Watson, Brielle Walk, Riley Conklin, and Grant Mann. The students compete by answering questions on a computer tablet, and the students get to keep the tablet! After two rounds of answering civics and history questions, P-O had 2 students in the top 6- Eloise Spence and Lainey Pelka. Eloise won a tiebreaker then had to defend her entry essay to a panel of 4 government representatives and the PSU Dean of Government Affairs in the 3rd round of the competition.  Eloise finished 3rd and won $125!!!  She will now go on to compete in the State "National Civics Bee". We are P-O Proud!!
